Dates: The lecture will take place fortnightly (with a few adjustments) on the following Mondays between 8:15 am and 12:00 am:

The final break is shortened to 5 minutes, meaning that the last lecture will take place from 11:05 to 11:50 (at every date itemized above).

Registration: All participants must officially register for the lecture, and will be added to the team MI0032: IT Security (FS 2025) in MS Teams.

Exam: The exam will take place on June 23, 2025, between 9 and 10 am in lecture hall HAH-E-11 (note that this hall is located in the center of Zürich at Häldeliweg 2, 8044 Zürich). Please note that the exam will start on time and that you must be in the lecture hall a few minutes before 9 am. The exact mode of operation will be announced in the lecture.

Instead of execises, students are required to self-study cryprography based on a text that is available here and in MS Teams. The text refers to draft chapters 1 and 2 of the book Cryptography 101: From Theory to Practice (Artech House, 2021, ISBN 978-1-63081-846-3). Questions are highly appreciated and can be asked at any time during the lecture.
